Announcement: Volunteer Registration for the 121st Boston Marathon Medical Positions
The 121st running of the Boston Marathon is Monday, April 17, 2017. Volunteer Registration deadline is February 8, 2017. Kindly share this so that we can get the word out in our regional memberships. As one of the American Red Cross/Marathon medical race course coordinators, I invite our patrollers (who are at least 18 years old, with a minimum of OEC-Tech and CPR by the race date) to submit an application for assignment at one of the volunteer medical positions along the race course. (See e-mail instructions below). OEC-Techs, EMT's and especially paramedics and nurses are encouraged to apply because we run a number of medical stations with IV capability on the route. Also, we were successful at getting OEC-Technician as a recognized medical certification last year with the BAA.
To get the BAA registration Log-In information, patrollers should e-mail Jenn Glabicky directly: email@example.com and please mention my name (Jonathan Goldfield) in that e-mail. Jenn is the Red Cross marathon course medical recruiting coordinator. Again, the registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017. Thank you, everyone. See you on the snow!
